Dr. Maalug has a wide array of professional experience, public and humanitarian activities under his belt., He is a Senior Specialist Psychiatrist at Pantang Hospital. He is also the Psychiatrist in Charge at the Bank Hospital which primarily takes care of the health needs of staff of the Bank of Ghana., Dr. Maalug also works in the Private sector and is the Psychiatrist in Charge at the Brain and Sleep Medical Centre at Abokobi in Accra, West Africa., He is a graduate of the School of Public Health, University of Ghana, with a Master of Public Health (MPH). He is also a Member of the Ghana College of Physicians (MGPS)., Dr. Maalug, who is an old Student of Opoku Ware School (Akatakyie), is active in the affairs of Akatakyie. He was the Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee (APC) when his year group (BEs) celebrated 20 years after completing the school in 2024. In that role, he led a nine-member committee to raise in excess of GHC 200,000 to buy a Risograph and medical equipment to give back to their Alma Mater., Dr. Maalug also believes in humanitarianism and has devoted his lifetime to ensuring good mental health for all. He has been involved in training corporate staff on mental health first aid., He is a former Organizer for the National Association of Public Health Students - University of Ghana chapter (NAPHS-UG) and also former Organizing Secretary of the Psychiatric Association of Ghana (PAG).
